What do I need to Know About PRP Therapy for Hair Growth?
Hi, I’m trying to tell you that All You Want to Know About PRP for Hair Growth
What is a PRP therapy?
PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. It is a three-step medical therapy for hair loss in which the patient’s blood is drawn out, processed, and injected into the scalp. People in the medical community maintains that PRP injections motivates natural hair growth and support it by the increased blood supply to the hair follicle and an increase in the thickness of the hair shaft. The approach is often combined with other hair loss procedures. It is not clear whether or not PRP for hair growth is an effective hair loss treatment.
PRP for hair growth as PRP therapy is in use since the 1980s for problems like healing injured ligaments, tendons, and muscles.
PRP for hair growth process
PRP therapy is a three-step process. The therapy requires three treatments four to six weeks apart. Maintenance treatments are needed every four to six months.
Step 1
The blood is drawn, typically from your arm and put into a centrifuge, a machine that spins to separate fluids with different densities.
Step 2
After the blood spins for ten minutes in the centrifuge, it will get separated into three different layers: platelet-poor plasma, platelet-rich plasma, and red blood cells.
Step 3
The platelet-rich plasma is drawn in a syringe and injected into areas of the scalp that require increased hair growth.
It is still unclear for whom and under what circumstances is PRP the most effective. Although PRP has sufficient theoretical basis to support its use in hair restoration, its use is still at infancy.
