Read my explanation of your question for better understanding.
According to the question,
The sum of the salaries of Tim, Tom and Max = $7500 …..(i)
Tim receives 2/5 of the total sum of the salaries ……(ii)
∴ (2/5)*(7500) = 2*7500/5 = $3000
∴ Tim receives a salary of $3000.
Tom receives 1/5 of the total sum of the salaries ………………….(iii)
∴ (1/5)*(7500) = 7500/5 = $1500
∴ Tom receives a salary of $1500.
Max receive 2/5 of the total sum of the salaries ………………..(iv)
