How high is Mount Snowdon? On average, how long does it take to complete a climb up the mountain? How would you classify the hike? Is it too difficult? What’s the experience like?
Snowdon stands at an elevation of 1,085 metres above sea level. A lot of locals and tourists have shared their hiking experiences on this mountain and while they may give different estimates as to how long it took them to climb up and then back down, it’s a good idea to allow anywhere from six to eight hours of your time to reach the summit and then back.
As for the hike, there are six paths that you can choose from. If you’re a first timer, you might want to consider the Llanberis Path which is very common among those new to Snowdon and its terrain. Many climbers also recommend the PYG Track which will have you starting at steep terrains, but if you’re up for it, you surely won’t regret the climb since the views are just breathtaking. And if you’re more into just taking it all in and relaxing while at it, there’s also the option of taking the Snowdon Mountain Railway.
