There are 5 different types of barbers. They’re as follows-

    1. OLD-SCHOOL TRADITIONAL

This is the type of barbershop in Anaheim and other locations that anyone above 40 grew up with. The shop stays in the same location for some decades with the same barber(s) for most, if not all of that time.  It’s more of a neighborhood establishment and a haircut here seems less like a transaction, and more like a visit to an old buddy whose occupation is to cut hair.

      2. COMMON FRANCHISE

These shops exist to cater to the section of society who wants a cheap haircut faster. Convenience and cost never take precedence over quality.  You seek a good haircut on every visit.

    3. INDEPENDENT CONTEMPORARY

This kind of barbershop is mostly started by an experienced barber to make it the best hair salon in the locality. Being new to the area or a graduate of the Common Franchise, these shops mostly have some of the best characteristics of an Old-School Traditional with the added advantage of being able to offer more contemporary styles.  The shop I expected to have much newer equipment and a usually more modern look.

    4. ETHNIC SPECIALTY

These shops specialize in ethnic hair types such as Asian, African, and Latino, that can have unique texture and growth patterns, and mandate specialized skills.

    5. INDEPENDENT HIPSTER

This shop happens to be the edgy cousin to the Independent Contemporary as they are diverse in style and price range.  A few have walls adorned with concert promo prints, while others feature interiors of subway tile and exposed brick.  A common feature among them is a lot of tattoos.  The other common thing they have is that their barbers mean serious business during men’s grooming.

Yes, texturizer can damage your hair even if you apply it at the best hair salon in your locality. Their disadvantages are as follows-

    Chemicals Affect Your Hair Badly

Any chemical, irrespective of whether you dye your hair, perming, or texturizing isn’t good at all.  Chemicals drastically change the natural makeup of your hair, which may lead to its fallout. Similar to anything unnatural for your body, it causes wear and tears.

    Leaves Scalp Dry

If you don’t take proper care, a texturizer can leave your hair dry and flaky even after getting it done from a barbershop in Anaheim. You must moisturize as required to prevent your scalp from itching.

    Hair Strands Get Weaker

While applying any chemical to your hair, breaks down your hair strands to change them for the way you would like to style it. This leads to making your strands weaker by stripping them from their natural oils and protection.

Possibly Changes the Color of Your Hair

If your hair is black and you regularly use a texturizer, you might start noticing that your hair is not as black anymore and has become a dark burgundy/brown color. This is because your hair is constantly processed by a chemical and accordingly it loses its color.

    May Lead to Breakage

Applying products to your hair, particularly ones with chemicals may lead to split ends. Your hair strands become weaker, and your scalp becomes dry so it’s convenient for your hair to break off or shed continuously. Hair breakage is a symptom of damage or hair that isn’t being taken care of.
