    How did you delete the photos on the PC? Empty the Recycle Bin, format the hard drive or use the Shift+delete key to clean the photos?

    However, no matter how you delete the photos on the PC, the photos are still there if there were not new photos be to write into the hard drive. As the system just clear the addresses of the photos only and that’s why you couldn’t view the photos there in the original place.

    I would suggest you to try to use the photo recovery software for Windows or Mac to recover.

    Prime Reasons why the external hard drive not showing up on the computer:

    • When you use an external hard drive such as Seagate in different computers with a previous OS, and it was previously working, a problem or issue may arise when Windows 10 not detect it or it is not showing up.
    • There is a possibility that something wrong with the driver software, it could be broken or outdated and you to update it by downloading the new driver software online.

    Solutions to fix the not detecting error of the external hard drive

    1. Try to change the USB port or cable. You might also want to check the connection if it is working properly.
    1. Check the USB cable if it is working or not. If not, you can change it and try again.
    1. Try other USB ports to see if the PC or computer is able to detect your external hard drive.
    1. Check if the external hard drive is working with other computers, if possible. So you can check if it can detect and read the external hard drive or not.

    If the above solutions can’t work to solve your error, try to find your external hard drive whether showing up in the Disk Management

    Press Win Logo key + R and type “Diskmgmt.msc” and then check!

    If the external hard drive is showing up there, you can try to use the third-party data recovery software to retrieve the data from the external hard drive first!
