Running is one of the greatest forms of exercise. As long as you have working legs, you’re able to go running. It doesn’t require any specialist equipment. Maybe you need a pair of decent running shoes but even that’s not true because I often run barefoot. Really, if you want to start running again, then it comes down to motivation. Why did you stop running in the first place?
I once gave up running after my first child was born. I felt I didn’t have the time to go out running. I resolved this by giving up drinking and waking up an hour earlier. Now that I had more time in the day, my excuses were gone and I began running. Maybe you moved away from your favorite running spot. Find a new trail near where you live to find the motivation again.
