Nowadays, technology is witnessing such a drastic transformation, that software versions are upgraded very frequently. Mobile technology is no exception. So are their operating systems.

Accordingly, if you wish to update your iPad to OS 15, then you need not visit any iPad repair shop in Montclair, or anywhere. I shall explain to you how to upgrade in the most user-friendly manner.

At the very outset, you need to back up your iPad to iCloud or your computer so that you can retain a copy of your important information.

You need to ensure that your device is plugged in and connected to the Internet through Wi-Fi. Then you need to go through the following steps:

    1. Initially, go to Settings. Select General. Then choose Software Update.
    2. You may find that two software update options are available. You may decide to stay on iOS and iPad OS 14 and yet continue to get crucial security updates. To update to iOS and iPad OS 15, choose that option.
    3. Tap Install Now.

If you use an Apple watch, then after you install iOS 15, you’ll come across a message on your Apple Watch to update to watch OS 8.

Still, if you are unsure about the above-mentioned steps, instead of visiting any ordinary cellphone store in Montclair, you should go to an Apple store. Else, you may end up voiding your warranty, if it’s applicable.

  • A lot depends on the make and model of the tablet that you are using. Yes, you got it right! It may vary as per the manufacturer, the make, and the model too as the solution to this specific issue cannot be uniform.  During my visit to a tablet repair shop in Montclair, I observed that a lot of the charging ports are micro-USB and soldered onto the logic board. A repair of the port would necessitate you to initially disassemble your gadget, and most probably de-solder the earlier port and replace it with a new one. At times, it is only the solder that has become loose and could be fixable by just re-soldering. If it is a standard connector, replacement ports are usually available at places such as Mouser.com or Digikey.com.

Else you may take the tablet apart and strip the board down to the Motherboard. If you have some soldering experience, take the soldering iron, and go online to purchase a “flux Soldering pen”. They are usually priced at $3.99 on eBay. Moreover, you can also get some DE soldering braid to replace the dc jack. It may happen that you have a weak joint or a bent pin.

Remember that if the device is under a year old, then you don’t have to wait as there is a free warranty. If it is broken, then you don’t need a warranty in the store. Just give a buzz to the manufacturer. Inform them that it is broken and they will hopefully replace it.
