What is a PRP therapy?
PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. It is a three-step medical therapy for hair loss in which the patient’s blood is drawn out, processed, and injected into the scalp. People in the medical community maintains that PRP injections motivates natural hair growth and support it by the increased blood supply to the hair follicle and an increase in the thickness of the hair shaft. The approach is often combined with other hair loss procedures. It is not clear whether or not PRP for hair growth is an effective hair loss treatment.
PRP for hair growth as PRP therapy is in use since the 1980s for problems like healing injured ligaments, tendons, and muscles.
