Suppose you have a friend on Facebook who’s status is bad for this you did not like his or her facebook status. so you don’t want to get his/her facebook status or  notification in your facebook wall. To do this, you can unfollow button.

Maybe you have a familiar  person in your Facebook friend list whom you cannot unfriend but you dislike  all of him or her Facebook status.

Now what will you do?
Yes, In this situation you can just unfollow him /her. look you do not need to unfriend him or her just unfollow him / her. Then you will be on your friend list and you will not get any notification of a status or activity and he will not get any information that you have unfollow him.

Remember, When you unfollow someone, you won’t see their posts in your News Feed, but you’ll still be friends with them.

To unfollow a person, Page or group:

1. Click in the top-right corner of Facebook
2. Select News Feed Preferences
3. Click Unfollow people to hide their posts
4. Select a person, Page or group

To unfollow a person, Page or group from your News Feed:

1. Click on the top right of their story
2. Select Unfollow

To unfollow a person, Page or group directly:

1. Go to the profile, Page or group you want to unfollow
2. Hover over Following (on a profile or Page) or click Joined (in a group) near their cover photo
3. Select Unfollow
